The Medical Biomolecular Research Building is a 225,000 square foot, eight-story research laboratory building for the School of Medicine. In addition to laboratories, the MBRB houses animal quarters, conference space, and two large lecture halls with state-of-the-art presentation equipment.

Driving from RDU airport take Airport Blvd. to I-40. Take I-40 West and proceed for 10.6 miles. Take exit 273 toward Chapel Hill (54 West). After 2.9 miles, 54W exits to your right after you pass under a bridge. Take the exit to the right, go up the ramp to the traffic signal, and bear right onto 15/501 South. After approximately 1 mile (at the second stoplight) you will come to a large intersection; turn right onto Manning Drive. Follow Manning Drive up through campus. Turn left at the fourth traffic signal (Neuroscience Hospital will be on your right) onto East Drive, which turns into Mason Farm Road. Follow Mason Farm Road behind the parking decks, and under a pedestrian overpass. Look for a tall brick building ahead on the left (EPA building); the MBRB is on the right. Pay parking for visitors is located at the Ambulatory Care Center and the Dogwood Parking Deck. The MBRB is connected to the Neuroscience Research Building.

Driving from 15-501/54, take Manning Drive off of 15-501/54, up through campus. Turn left at the fourth traffic signal (Neuroscience Hospital will be on your right) onto East Drive, which turns into Mason Farm Road. Follow Mason Farm Road behind the parking decks, and under a pedestrian overpass. Look for a tall brick building ahead on the left (EPA building); the MBRB is on the right. Driving from Franklin Street/Carolina Inn, follow Pittsboro Street and cross S. Columbia Street at the traffic signal. You are now on Manning Drive. Take the first right (West Drive; one way street). Turn right onto Mason Farm Road. Look for a tall brick building ahead on the left (EPA building); the MBRB is on the right. Limited parking may be found along Mason Farm Rd. Pay parking for visitors is located at the Ambulatory Care Center and the Dogwood Parking Deck. The MBRB is connected to the Neuroscience Research Building.

Walking from Franklin Street/Carolina Inn, go south on Columbia Street. Turn left onto Manning Drive. Look for a large brick staircase across Manning Drive on the left side of Thurston-Bowles, between the curb and the bus stop shelter. Take the staircase up to an outdoor courtyard with tables. walk straight through the courtyard. You are looking at the MBRB, a tall brick building with a curved, two-story patio, silver wall sconces, and a round planter near the entrance. The MBRB is connected to the Neuroscience Research Building.

(There is a small brown and blue sign for the Glaxo Research laboratory at the entrance to the driveway.) Bear left around the trailer. There is a loading deck to the right, with a dumpster and dual loading ramps. Enter through the door farthest to the left. Follow the corridor and turn right at the mechanical room. Go through the double doors, walk down the hall, and turn left at the double glass doors which lead to the elevator.
