Welcome to the Carolina Cardiovascular Biology Center web site. We intend for this space to provide you with a concise overview of our center and serve as a source of information and reference material related to our center and the people that comprise it. If you have questions about the center but can't find the information you need here, please don't hesitate to contact us.

This center was created in 2001 and is still in a time of rapid growth and evolution. Our scientific interests are broad and span the important areas of basic, translational, and clinical research in the areas of cardiovascular physiology, vascular biology, and thrombosis and hemostasis. We are currently in a rapid growth period, and we encourage inquiries from like-minded scientists about ongoing searches for positions within our groups. Likewise, most of the investigators in our center are expanding their research teams, and would be happy to field questions regarding the availability of laboratory positions. Finally, we invite potential trainees at the pre- and post-doctoral levels to visit the center and its members: that is the best way to experience the training opportunities that are available through our center, including the Predoctoral Training Program in Integrative Vascular Biology.

You can find the mission statement of the Carolina Cardiovascular Biology Center here. We have been charged by the University of North Carolina to maintain integrity and excellence of cardiovascular research, and to provide for the present and future needs of people at risk for, and with, diseases of the heart and blood. We have strong and close interactions with other centers of excellence in research on campus and with many basic and clinical departments within the School of Medicine and the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC. Our goal is to be considered among the top tier of international centers in cardiovascular diseases.
